EMU Professor Awarded Mini-Grant for Innovative Faculty Program

Bethann Gyorke, agent for The Krumm Agency, LLC was thrilled when a professor from her alma mater, Eastern Michigan University was a recipient of a MEEMIC® Foundation Mini-Grant Award. Jessica (Decky) Alexander, an Associate Professor of Theatre and Educational Drama Communication at EMU received a $750 mini-grant. Ms. Alexander petitioned the foundation to underwrite the cost of producing the Close up Classroom, a pilot faculty program using theatre as a means of increasing awareness about instructional practices of teaching.

"We certainly appreciate just how difficult it is to find funding for new educational programs and that's why organizations such as the MEEMIC Foundation are more important than ever. We applaud Jessica Alexander for going above and beyond the call of duty to apply for the MEEMIC Foundation grant so that the EMU faculty and ultimately the EMU student body will benefit," said Gyorke.

Belleville High Awarded Mini-Grant for Special Middle School Transition Program

Mr. Carl Shultz, a teacher at Belleville High School in Belleville, MI received a $500 mini-grant from the MEEMIC® Foundation for the Future of Education. Mr. Shultz petitioned the foundation to help underwrite expenses for Link Crew, a program designed to help middle school students in their transition to high school.

Local MEEMIC Insurance agents Bethann & Ernie Krumm of the Krumm Insurance Agency, LLC said, "We were excited to hear that Carl Shultz was receiving a $500 grant from the MEEMIC Foundation for his program. We especially appreciate the fact that local educators have a funding source like the MEEMIC Foundation available to them so they can continue to make a difference in the lives of their students."

KRUMM AGENCY - EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY MEN’S BASKETBALL

The Krumm Agency, LLC was excited to share in the Eastern Michigan Men's Basketball, first MAC win again Central Michigan on February 1, 2006. We sponsored the EMU faculty/staff shootout. The event had a wonderful reception from staff at EMU. The EMU Administration Team of President Fallon and Associate Athletic Director Mike Malach beat EMU Campus Life Team in the finals, 20- 19. The event was fun and brought out some healthy competition among EMU faculty/staff. The Krumm Agency, LLC is proud of our continued involvement with Eastern Michigan University.

EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY ART DEPARTMENT AWARDED MEEMIC FOUNDATION GRANT!

Bethann Gyorke Krumm, your MEEMIC agent, presented the Eastern Michigan University Art department a MEEMIC Foundation grant. The $2250 check was awarded to Art Department Head, Tom Venner and Art Professor, Ryan Malloy. The money will be used to purchase software for the department's new computer lab. The software will be used to support a visual journalism project. "We're proud to know that the MEEMIC Foundation provided financial assistance so that Eastern Michigan students could benefit from having state of the art software for this project," said Bethann Krumm. The MEEMIC Foundation for the Future of Education was founded in 1992 by MEEMIC Insurance Company as a means of giving back to educational community.
